Resource Central

Resource Central serves as a general meeting place, as well as the site of Cyber Café for Internet users. You will find exhibitor showcases and information on diverse program topics and affinity groups, as well as publications from the Council and sample resources from member foundations and corporate giving programs. Your conference materials will include a detailed Resource Central directory. Come to Resource Central to:

  • Talk with colleagues, relax or enjoy light refreshments
  • Check your e-mail or surf the Internet at the Cyber Café
  • Learn about the latest products and services at exhibitor booths
  • Get details about services provided by the Council on Foundations
  • Purchase Council publications

NONPROFIT MARKETPLACE

The Pittsburgh Host Committee is excited to present the Nonprofit Marketplace, where local nonprofits will exhibit and sell original crafts to raise money. The Marketplace will have unique products from organizations from Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. Please come by to learn about some innovative entrepreneurship and find great gifts and souvenirs that support local nonprofits.

Take advantage of your free time and join us for an afternoon reception. Find out about the latest products and services offered by various exhibitors. Shop at our popular nonprofit marketplace and network with colleagues and the Pittsburgh Host Committee.

DISABILITY SHOWCASE

FISA Foundation and the Disability Funders Network (DFN) will host a Disability Showcase featuring interactive displays of assistive technology and model programs that foster community participation of people with disabilities. The goal will be to demonstrate how funding in the arts, health, education, employment and community development can include people with disabilities.

DFN will present the fourth William Diaz Impact Award in a ceremony at the booth (date and time TBA). The award honors grantmakers who have had a positive impact on the disability community and whose work encourages the grantmakers to be more inclusive of disability.

PITTSBURGH VISITORS BOOTH ON-SITE

Be sure to stop by the Greater Pittsburgh Convention & Visitors Bureau information booth for information regarding sight-seeing attractions, shopping, dining options and special events. A staffed professional with the GPCVB can assist you with any questions you may have, as well as provide you with a walking map of the downtown business district and neighboring Oakland, home to Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh, as well as the world famous Carnegie Museum.

NONPROFIT ACADEMIC CENTERS COUNCIL

The Nonprofit Academic Centers Council, whose members are academic centers or programs at accredited colleges and universities that focus on the study of nonprofit organizations and philanthropy, will be available to share new research, resources and curricula within the field of nonprofit and philanthropic studies.

Annual Reports

All foundations are invited to send between 50 and 75 copies of their annual reports to share with attendees in Resource Central. All materials should be shipped for arrival by April 7, 2006, to the address below:
