Airline Carriers
The Council on Foundations has arranged for special airfares to New York on United and Delta Airlines. (Check with your travel agent and/or the Internet for more competitive fares.) Reservations can be made by you or your travel agent. Use the following ID codes:

    Airports
    Three airports serve the New York City area: Kennedy, La Guardia and Newark.

    Amtrak
    Train service to New York City Penn Station is convenient and very affordable. Penn Station is 2 miles from the Hilton. Average cab fare for this short trip is $6. AAA members receive a 10% discount on some fares, and senior travelers over the age of 62 are eligible to receive a 15% discount. Search www.amtrak.com or call 1-800-USA-RAIL for fare and schedule information.

    Attire
    Business casual dress is recommended for the conference. For your comfort, please dress in layers as meeting room temperatures can vary.

    Audio Tapes and CD-ROMs
    Audio tapes and CD-ROMs of concurrent and plenary sessions are sold during and following the conference. Order forms are available in your conference tote bag. Visit Content Management in Resource Central to purchase items.

    Childcare
    Individuals wishing to make arrangements for childcare before arriving in New York can obtain names of licensed childcare providers by contacting the Hilton New York concierge desk at 212/586-7000 ext. 5066.

    Climate
    In February, temperatures in New York reach a low of 40 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and drop lower in the evenings. Historically there is little rain this time of year, but please bring an umbrella just in case.

    Have a question or a suggestion? Council staff are available throughout the conference to hear what you have to say. Look for the COF@Your Service banner in Resource Central.

    Conference Handouts & Resource Material
    The Council provides conference handouts and resource material on CD-ROM. The Conference CD-ROM can be obtained on-site at the conference registration desk. In addition, a web address will be mailed to all conference registrants approximately one week before the conference that will allow registrants to preview or print session handouts before the conference. Check www.cof.org following the conference for items that were not included on the CD-ROM.

    Council Policies

    Meals
    Meals are included in your registration fee on the day(s)for which you are registered.

    Sunday: Brunch & Tea
    Monday: Breakfast, Lunch & Evening Event
    Tuesday: Breakfast & Closing Plenary Lunch

    Extra tickets for Tuesday's lunch with former President Bill Clinton can be purchased using the conference registration form. A limited number of meal tickets for all plenaries will be available at the conference registration desk for on-site purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Meeting Room Space
    Seating in all conference sessions is first-come, first-served. Meeting room assignments are based on past session attendance. If a session is overcrowded, we regret the inconvenience and welcome your suggestions for future improvements.

    Name Badges
    Your name badge serves as your ticket and is required for admission to all conference functions, including meals, sessions and the evening networking event. Board members and trustees of foundations can be identified by conference ribbon.
